the one closest to the rad mount is for the 250's exhaust valve controller, the one above it is for the module or regulator or something you wont be using from the 250

i wouldn't cut them off though man, they make a bitchen coil mount for the cr500 coil. you just need to make up a piece to extend it to fit the bottom mount. check out algavas build on the other site, that's where my coil is going to most likely go...i have no idea though yet. keep it up buddy so far i'm ahead. you could take the lead...but remember i have a broken leg!!
I got the motor mounts made up this week and the frame welded. The welding wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. I mounted a larger spout on the RH rad also.
Is the lower pipe mount in the correct spot, or should I cut it off? The welder missed a spot on the motor mount because it was in the way.
The cradle tubes didn't align perfectly. I was going to squeeze them with a C-clamp before welding, but I thought it may close up the front motor mounts slightly. You'll never see it with the motor installed.

Those welds look fine by me. Finally, someone who doesn't weave when they weld . A straight push weld always looks cleaner, smoother and is stronger. If I see one more weave weld I'm going to puke.
Weaving is only good for making whicker baskets. Or finger painting.

Don't get me wrong. Mikes welds are the shiznit. Notice how nice and flat they are with no peaks sticking way up. The straight parallel lines along the edges. The work of a pro. It's all in the prep work as well.
Fin Land is just something I made up because I ride a Free Air 500 with the huge cooling fins. Just a play on words .
I'm really from Elora, Ontario. A real quiet little village. Except when I'm out on my bike !

i'd never thought of Elora Ontario as quiet.
Miami Manitoba is quiet!
one night the bro and i took the trucks to the horsetrack for a lil racing before the mainstreet burnouts.
The Reeve, Mayor, 2 Counselors, The head of the historical society, ag society, golf course, baseball coach, trucker, hockey ref, curling rink care taker, school bus driver, and bar owner were all in the bar telling us how the track had just been leveled for winter and we were too late and couldnt get over the berm to drive on it (which we thought was the best thing ever jumping it, then setting up the right rear on the bern and going faster than usual)
we told them that we had just come from the track, and the 3 of them wouldnt believe us

I thought about using one of those cable brackets with one hole that you would use to hold conduit or cable to a wall, only the type that wraps around for that rear pipe mount, but my gen-1 never had a rear mount and never had an issue, so I got lazy and left the gen-4 without the rear pipe mount.
that setup looks really nice, I really like the headstay.
