Wasn't someone using a 250 stator wound for a lighting coil?? I seen a post somewhere recently???

the 250 stators are iffy, dont make much power and you gotta be revving
they also rob power from your spark, fouls easier, takes away a bit of the easy starting


if i were to do it over again id buy a good lithium ion battery and charger, something like this

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

several lighting stators for 250. highest i seen is 60w

The OEM fan, thermostat and radiator I'm using on a 08 450/500 build...

Paul, a Gen3 250 ignition has enough power to run lights, and possibly the fan too. You could add a small battery to "buffer" for when the fan runs in and out.

Just need to figure out the rest of timing set up.
See my 2003 cr250 ignition thread for what I've done so far, but I've been frozen out of getting anymore done myself.
