2010 Honda CRF500AF

Post by HrcRacing »

HRC on Thumper-Talk posted this today. I've asked him who built it but no word yet. Pretty sweet!

Below is the 250. HRC on TT said they were built by some Italian company.

Here's a pic of the 500's Y.

PS: I agree, those red bolts are beyond tacky.

Looks nice, but I have yet to talk to anyone over 6 foot that like's the newer chassis so that counts me out on doing a newer build.

I'm 6'6" and hated the 01 CR 250 frame for my conversion. Then I bought that 08 450X and it felt like a tote gote mini bike. The newer stuff feels just tiny to me

You can see just fine, that is definitely not a CR500 kicker and it doesn't look like a CR250 one either.

It will be JINXED for sure!

When you say "the newer chassis" are you referring to the CRF250R / X or the CRF450R / X type chassis or better still BOTH!

BTW what chassis is that thing based on?

I am thinking it looks like a CRF250R.

I meant the newer small chassis like the 09 450 that pretty much all of team Honda hated.

The 500 is CRF450R based, the 250 is CRF250R based. Here's a pic of the 250.

I like the red boles and such. it's different, and it matches the bike. better than polished bolts, thats for sure.

i dont know how to ride the little bikes, i like my gen3 frame, feels like it was made for me, same with the '87-88, the 89+ was lower and felt smaller, not as small as the gen4 250f feels tho, just not right, i'm only 6'3", but bigger guys are on the gen4s and like them

With this being the 1st gen 4 I've ridden, our 500 feels as comfortable as our 08 450's for size. I do like the turning of the 250f chassis and the motor makes the 450's seem slow

Being the size I am, 6'6" I actually prefer the steel to the Aluminum. Call me crazy

OK this is going to sound like a DUMB question, has Honda made a Gen5 frame because the frame with the 500 engine does not look like a Gen4 CRF450R frame to me. :? :?

If so when did they start making them.

I don't keep up with developments concerning 4 JOKES unless it is posted on here.

The more I read about the later bikes the more I'm glad I choose the Gen3 07 CR250R to convert. ( I would also like to do a Gen3 04 CRF450R )
