Well Cali will still be warm in Sept. Santa Monica is alright - too may bums IMO. But if you are down in SM, be sure to check Venice - good sights to see - lol. A real show! Its almost riding season around that time as well. As far as hotels, I am not too sure - I just drive there daily...but get ready for traffic. You'll have a lot of company on the roads...tour hollyweird, la, etc...its cool to check out. I'll see what else I can drum up for ya....where u coming from?oggo69 wrote:folks i thought best to ask peeps that live there , we are looking to book a holiday to cali for around the month of september , we dont just want to be beside a beech , we like to see place we are staying in .... any guidance or even stay aways would be great , oh we were looking down santa monica way or southern cali

that great input dude , thanks , TBH it would be more of laid back holiday , i have been to san fran its one of the best places i ever been , i loved it but just want to do somehwere different this time , an old friend lives in LA and i dont think i would like to stay there for a week on holidays , maybe a night or twosouth central hoon wrote:it really depends on what you want to do while you are here. For cultural happenings LA is the place in so cal for museums, theatres, comedy clubs, amazing food, etc. but if you want to expierence something laid back, quaint, and less crowded with more nature head north. santa barbara, wine country, ventura county are absolutely beautiful.
San Francisco is nice in the fall too.
if you want natural beauty stay away from LA beach areas, except paradise cove on up to zuma. good surfing....
for a first time trip to california here would be my list of must see places:
natural wonders:
Lake tahoe
Redwoods
Big Sur
Santa Cruz
Napa Valley
if you don't care about that and don't mind hanging in the smog and traffic come to LA for hollywood bowl, hollywood forever cemetary (outdoor movies), MOCA, LACMA, GETTY, and awesome japanese, korean, mexican, persian, etc. food.
hope this helps.
sounds like the ticket , thanks dude ...DesertCR wrote:I live in San Diego, I think you would like our coastline. There are plenty of small beach towns such as La Jolla, Del Mar, and even Coronado. If relaxing is your plan, then SD is a nice place to enjoy the coast. Not to mention that some parts of the coastline aren't overly crowded like Venice beach and etc.
