Tranny swap?? no not that kind

Post by smokindodge »

not that kind of tranny swap
I have a 92 motor in my gen 1 right now it certainly leaves a lot to be desired in the top end! I have a buddy who just picked up a 96 500 with a blown motor. He said I can have the trans out of it. First of all would you recommend the swap? Second, will everything cross over without any problems? will everything fit in my cases without any issues?

Ya you can just change the gears or the whole trans, but make sure you look at all the shift dogs for ware then decide. Whole trany or just gears.
