Woman Kicked Out of New Zealand For Being Too Fat

They were planning to start a new life in a new country but Rowan Trezise, age 33, has been told by the government of New Zealand that she and her husband may have to look elsewhere for a place to live, because she is too fat to be allowed into the country.

Although both husband and wife were too fat for admittance when they first applied Mr. Trezise, a submarine cable specialist who was once a member of the British Army, has managed to shed two inches from his waistline thereby meeting the standards set for a work visa.

Mrs. Trezise however has not met the goal set for her and is therefore barred.

The couple were informed that New Zealand bars overweight people because of the potential burden they pose to the national health care system. According to New Zealand Robyn Toomath, spokesman of “Fight the Obesity Epidemic” a New Zealand organization dealing with the problems posed by overweight people:

“The immigration department can’t afford to import people who are going to be a significant drain on our health resources.

“You can see the logic in assessing if there is a significant health cost associated with this individual and that would be a reason for them not coming in.”

New Zealand’s Immigration Service has not said how many people have been bared from entering the country due to their weight but according to the Emigrate New Zealand website that number is fairly high. Unless Rowan Trezise can shed the weight by Christmas the couple say they will abandon their plans to relocate to New Zealand.

Not to pick on anyone, but if this country had policies similar to that, mabey we would have affordable health insurance. Just a thought.

everyone at my work is a fat ass and smokes. For that reason, it is cheaper for me to insure my family with my own private policy than paying %50 to join their group. The owner of the company actually has a personal policy against hiring hotties, so its a wonder Heather slipped by the radar, but the rest of the %80 of a building with 78 people are 400lb+ smoker women.
This also allows me to keep my independant sub contractor status, which is nice since I don't want to be on their insurance.
American society needs to stop worrying about offending fat people. Being fat is unhealthy and has a negative effect on society as a whole.

yup, I'm not complaining, they are my job security  they are too lazy to fix a paper jam, mess up the keyboards, mouses and cd-roms and frequently do what I call around here a... "gangsta click" which is when they get all click happy with the mouse and delete or move important shared documents giving me a good full day of work to recover

300lbs and not fat, maybe if 6' 8" plus? I guess I just do not see it.... I am over 6'3" and am just over 220lbs, I am a big boy by most standards of the word. I have co workers that are my height but have a 44" waist and weigh 300-320lbs, when I look at them I see FAT AND OUT OF FUCKING SHAPE.

Get off the couch, but down the burrito and the bong and get some running shoes. I ran 2 miles today, fucked up lung, bruised ribs and all!!!! Your body, heart and kids will love you for it and maybe if you are lucky you will actually get to see your grand kids grow and use your 401K for what it was meant for.... Too have a nice healthy retirement!!!

That is my point, not trying to bust any balls or beat anyone up... Was not to many years ago I was 270 with a 42" waist, but I looked around and seen too many fat, bald 30 year old men that looked 50!!! Decided that was not me, quit the pop, started working out, running and so on... Divorce helped I am sure, but now I am 220lbs with 34" waist, not a hard body; but fit for my age. Hell I am 39 and have not dated a women older the 30 since I was 21!!! Life is good, as long as you take care of it!!!!

I was kind of the same boat. Let my self go over the years and got up to 430 lbs. Went to the doc got some scary news and said WTF. Went from 46" to 38" waist and am still kickin ass everyday exercising. I'll be 6 in a week and plan on being around for a while. I aint going out due to being a fat ass.

Right on brother, since I know what it takes to do a 180 turn around you have my respect!!! Not that my opinion matters, but from the sounds of it you have someone worth living for; keep it up for them.

I went down hard 10 days ago, pushing 40 it was a hard blow; shook many similar blows off in my 20's. But thinking about my babies puts a different light on things, am I going to stop riding and racing.... Hell no and neither are they; but I know I need to hit the old work out routine a little harder to build up the strength to keep it going and show my kids what it takes to stay strong!!!

And I have to say this, call me shallow!!! I am sick of fat chicks, seems the only skinny ones anymore are 16-18 and sorry I require someone who can legally drink with me and is not part of my daughters student council!!!!!!

I'm just a kid yet at almost 23, but I run into the same issue. Is it just that we're in Iowa?

I just don't want to have to carry a bag of flour around with me...
