coil differences?

Post by smokindodge »

Will the coil from an 88 bolt up to my 99 aluminum chassis without the adapter? I know some of the older ones will but not sure which ones.

pretty sure the answer is no. The 250 coil (which some claim you can use) is considerably smaller than the stock 500 coil. The adapter I did not only allows you to mount the coil, but it also moves it away from the heat of the jug...FYI.

a 250 or 125 coil will work fine with your electronics. the '86 was the only coil with the newer bolt pattern, but its also a different resistence
