I had a buddy say they are getting 65 hp out of a 125 engine. Am I correct in thinking that is complete horse shit?

I wouldnt doubt it, it probably at very high RPM and only across a very narrow rev range.

my old 125 was claimed by dewayne to put out an expected 45hp and it was damn near impossible to ride. I had to sell it because I couldn't ride it on the trails anymore, but in kept up with hoofarteds '01 cr250 in teh flat stuff. the powerband was so harsh that I would be going up a hill, start bogging, down shift, power would hit and the bike would flip right out from under me
I think it is possible, but have to agree with brit, it would probably only be good in a kart....

Yep he was talking about in a Kart. I just don't see it happening and if it is then it's probably not a 125 anymore.

ya, actually, my 125 was a stroker and past its last bore (custom piston) I was easily over 150cc...

In a Cart Machine or a GP Racer (European theater) -horsepower (unuseable to off road machines) can be accomplished with high RPMS 13,000 to be exact (Max 55 HP be it at the head or Real Wheel - which is it?) SEE THE LINK- with about a 100LB rider and can compete with a real (full size dude) on a Gixer Liter Bike.

Check the link and see the potential of this mouse mill.

65HP from a 125 I don't think so (posted 55HP - AWESOME) it can perform though, against a 150+ HP Gixer - on asphalt tracks.

Don't look for one to kick your ass up Olds Hill at glamis anytime soon
