Kicker hits new pipe....

Post by pimp559 »

I just got my new FMF. I had a PC on it before and the kicker wasn't even close to the pipe but it hits the new FMF. How do get it to fit with out hitting the pipe? If I have to I'll add a little weld to the stopper to keep it from hitting when it comes in. I'd rather find a better way. What have you guys done ?

I releaved the kicker on my bike and added a washer or two at the rear pipe mount to shift it inward a bit. That was enough to clearance it but I started with a new kickstarter (i.e., no slop).

I also just found this.

" Offset the spline on the inside of the kicker. While your waiting for the cylinder to come back. Thats what I did." Iggy

I found more about it on Unclekarckers gen 3 build too. I guess I should have looked a little harder before I asked. I'll probably do the washers too, thanks

Yep or live with it riding the frame a little bit.

You'll have to take the side case off to get in there. Then triple check it before it goes back on. It was time well spent.

Great tip, thanks Iggy. I'll yank the cover off this weekend and do it right. I didn't come this far to half ass it now. One cool thing about the FMF is that I don't have a problem with it hitting my rad hose now. :D

Check the back side of the pipe by the reed cage, it likes to rubb the bolt.
