Bill's pipe bummer

Post by dannygraves »

so, I e-mailed Bill's pipes and this is what I got:

me:
Hi, do you guys make a pipe for the cr500? I don't like pro circuit
pipes and FMF only makes the gnarly and it doesn't build enough power up top for me.
Thanks
Danny Graves

reply#1:
No I am sorry but we do not have them in stock

me2:
Thank you for the quick reply. will you guys be making any in the future? Did you make a cr500 pipe before?
Thanks
Danny

reply#2:
Yes we did make them, but now we are only making 4-stroke pipes.
sorry
Bill

freaken 4 strokes have taken everything over :( makes me sad

pipe, not silencer. I already have a powercore 2. The gnarly pipe makes really good down low power, but I'm running out of steam quickly. its more noticeable since my porting work. and now that I'm adding my 41mm powerjet carb, I should get a pipe that will work with it well. I hate PC, I've seen so many Tacoed ones, the fmfs are way sturdier. The old FMF fatty is the way to go, but I can't find one anywhere!
An old racer friend was telling me to cut the header pipe on my gnarly 1 1/2" shorter and that will help alot, but I'd rather not have a nigyver pipe. Plus I want to keep the gnarly for the trails.

You should just ask him for his original FMF Fatty that was just removed. I'm sure you could work a trade for some 86 parts...
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...

yeah, but for how much$$$
I'm cheaper than you brit! I won't pay more than like $250-$300 for a pipe. Although looking at some of glens pipes, they look worth it!

maybe I should just hit my gnarly with the cutting wheel and wire feed and give it a try! Heck, I got the pipe from MFDB for like $50 and fixed it anyway.. :D

I actually e-mailed FMF and told them about both boards as far as the old gold series fatty pipe. Told them everyone who wants to get more revs is going to PC. Haven't gotten a reply yet.

its fun. you can change your powerband ALOT doing just length modifications. 1.5" is a good starting point.
