couple more questions

Post by aloha450x »

took the head off and dropped the gasket on the floor. which was is up. waterjacket is dimpled so does it go up or down? also are you guys using the stock throttle cable with your pwk's. also checked the number on the piston. 636m09050 so i guess it's 1.5mm over making it a 90.50 what oversize is this and how many oversizes are there. thanks

90.5 is the largest the cylinder can go.. if it looks good inside run it.. but when it comes time for a top end then your gonna need a new cylinder or a new sleeve..

If I'm not mistaken, there is 2 more bores... the 636 series of wisecos (or maybe it's pro-x) go in 1/4 mil increments... should be able to get a 90.75 and a 91. Right?

edit: The increments for wiseco is 89.00, 89.25, 89.50, 89.75, 90.00, 90.50, and 91.00

This is the correct answer. However I think there is a 90.25 and 90.75 availible per Wiseco.

And you have to find a good shop to measure the cylinder to piston wall clearance to be sure if its time to bore unless the compression is low. .005 is max.

Here is a look at the CR500 section in Wiseco's catalog.

Here's their dirtbike catalog... CR500 stuff is at the bottom of page 5.

Dimples do go up, tab towards the back. I use an OEM Honda cable with my PWK. As far as power, I think some people are saying 80ish... not 100% sure though.

You dont wanna have to run race gas all the time especially on the street. It gets expensive fast, every time I take the GSS bike out it costs me about $65 for 5 gal with oil.
