Crank Balance
Crank Balance
I had my crank & Motor rebuilt by Eric Gorr. It came back very very smooth. Originally I was going to send it to Millar Racing, (Sorry Roostius) but was ultimately disuaded by the extra shipping costs etc.. to Canada.
Never thought anything was too bad before it left, but it sure was noticeable when it came back. Quite smooth running now. Guy is cheap too and even sent me a refund, although he doesn't seem to want to speak to anyone or respond to emails. Reminds me of a gunsmith.

Jezzus Keerhist! I thought I was replying to that other thread, not creating a new one. I must be operating at Full Retard today! Can this Thread be deleted?

The Weekend is Coming!
I tried calling Gorr, but couldn't get and answer. So I estimated the cost based on his website.
Then I emailed him several times and never got a reply. Then called and got him. Based off his site I reckoned an everything everything job depending, was going to be around $1000.00 a motor.
He laughed and said no way, adding I'd was due a discount for sending two motors at once. Anyway, for the bottom up rebuild, Zeroing the crank, or whatever he called it, and Mo Betta port job it ended up being $1500.00 for both including the return shipping, and then sent me a refund check for $500.00.
I figured he'd probably make up enough extra charges to cover the over-pay, but he didn't.
Only real con is he didn't get all the soda out of the external holes like the intake manifold and stuff like that. Had to use a 22 cal bore brush and brake cleaner to get that stuff out.
Motor sure is smooth now. That's the biggest impression. Power over all is good too, not Mo Betta, but A Lot Mo Betta. He probly went Full Retard on it, or at least Super Retard I reckon.
I was told to use vinegar to get rid of excess soda.
50/50 vinegar and water, boil 15 minutes. Serious.
Say.....this you?
