Nah the guys was just a shit salesman that the dealership couldn't fire, deny the guy time off, he quits, job done and no lawsuit

I would happily do the same. Any company who wouldn't allow me time off for something like that doesn't deserve to have me anyway. I wouldn't have quit though, I would have made them terminate me.
