PADDLE TIRE
I have an 8 paddle tire and was told that a 14 paddle tire would need less power to pull sand hill, I cant believe this, could he be wrong. How do I figure out what paddle to go with. No experiance with bikes. I just want to pull steep hills at Little Siera sand dunes UT. Thanks everyone

you will be fine with that gearing and paddle.. I ran 14/49 on a early model trans and it wasnt the top end i wanted but the shift points were much better once i setup the sprockets the way i liked

stock bike wont pull sand mountn in 5th with 14/47. your best bet is to keep it 14/47 and run 4th gear (that should get you 50mph) or try 14/51 and it MIGHT pull 5th but i really doubt it on a stock motor. its a monster hill dude, stock 500 just wont cut the mustard484 wrote:little sahara(the one closest to me at least) is in western OK, I think the OP said little sierra in UT, is there such a place?.
