2001 shock and for question
will any other models forks of shocks swap? for example will a 02 cr250 shock bolt up or crf450/crf250 forks? thanks guys good to be back

forks from '97+ will all bolt on, but the brake caliper mounts changed in '04. The '00-'07 cr250 shocks should all interchange, but the crfs got a different shock and the gen-1 bikes had the older 46mm shock instead of the 50mm like everything '00+

The 1mm difference is in the bottom of the fork legs.
The part that matters is the top of the fork legs, they may be greater than 1mm in size difference.
If you are going to use different fork legs, get the tripple clamps to match.
You could measure the fork legs to see how close they are and work out which way you want to go.
If the tops are 1mm difference, that is only 0.5mm each side of the clamp .
I can't see that as a big problem, providing there is still plenty of metal left.
If you don't have the 01 CR500 clamps, just get the ones to match the fork legs.
