The dude that I got my triple from has a few RD engine basket cases (too bad Honda never made a high-potent twin smoker).
I have extra cones left over from my chamber build.

well, i brought the missing Y section of the frame to the builders attention, and he says that it is connected, and that he is aware of the stresses put on the frame without it.

after the pipes are made up, and the cosmetics taken care of, that thing will be wicked. and he also says that the thing is a real animal.

I talked to my contact.....he has a Yamaha race spec RD350 (the air cooled version of the TZ motor) engine available. Looks like I now need a frame.

Anyone have a 1st gen frame for cheap???

Actually I originally tried that with a 99 CR250 frame with an RZ350 engine which is about the same but with power valves and it was going to be a cluster fuck. I ended up dropping in an 01 YZ250 and adding street tires resulting in the imfamous CRYZ Motard. I'm building a street tracker type of scoot out of all of my RZ stuff like a TZR Banana Swingarm and late model KTM inverted forks. I realize it's not a Hoon but honestly there's no denying just how fast these things can be made to go. One of mins is heavily modded and to say the least it's "violent" when it's on the pipe.

Who cares about bling? If you can make it go fast and it doesn't break it's good in my book no matter how it looks. I used to ride the worst beaters ever. Smoking the guys on the new shiny rides is priceless. I still smoke guys on a bike that most at first glance would think is a beater. To the trained eye though its all bling
