Jays backyard 5/27 AND 6/3
Jays backyard 5/27 AND 6/3
It ended up being a really nice day. The trails we hit were fun. There was some nice wide open spots, cool sandy switch back burm sections, some decent single track, and a lot of elevation changes. I had a really good time and it was good to finally meet Jay and his son Troy. They are both really good people and very good hosts. Thanks again for letting Bob and I come out and ride Jay. And thank you Bob for hauling me and my bike out there. It is greatly appreciated.
Jay I left my stand at your house. I didn't even realize it till I was loading up to come home from Bobs.

According to the Photography Almanac 2008 Edition.... These are the 5 hardest photos to capture...
1. Bigfoot
2. Loc Ness Monster
3. Inside of a UFO
4. Brit, either brushing his teeth, or picking up a group bar tab
5. Hellbear riding....
Well, I got #5!
1 thru 3 are possible I think, #4 is hopeless......
For taking a year off riding, Larry rode very well.... good pace through the rythym stuff, made all the hillclimbs, stayed right on Troy's rear end the whole day.
Suffered a little in the stamina dept.. but that will come back.
It was a great ride to get both of us back on the seat.... It was a 46 miles, split into two loops.
I went down once, cross rutted, fell smack onto my right shoulder... the 85% healed one..... No worries..... felt fine. This happened around mile 40 or so..... from mile 43 to 45 I got my sea legs back and wasnt so worried about calling the wife with another snapped clavicle....I turned the wick up a little... felt good....
Thanks again Jay for hosting us, supplying lunch and the beers and to Troy for leading most of the day....
GOOD TIMES!!!

So, we did it again....
Brit
Me
Solid , his boy and a friend
Jay and his boys...
We did about 30 miles..... tried to rain.. but didnt... Would have kept the dust down.
Rode down this cool ravine.... steep, and overgrown. Lots of branches to duck under... Looks like the last bikes went down it some time ago.... pretty cool.
BIG SACK of the day award goes to Chance Lewis. We came across a little "Freestyle" compound.. with a good gap, and a Kicker style ramp...
Chance flexed his nuts... and hit it ....... a little too hard.
The kicker lip tossed him straight up.... maybe 25'? He wisely chose to bail on the bike, and landed feet first on the downhil slide, kinda slid down the hill on his butt. No injuries, but lost some skin on his forearm. Chance, that took some nerve to hit that ramp, that hard....
Other than that... a safe and fun ride. Its been a while since Soild rode last... . good to see him back on the bike. Jay BBQed us some killer N/Y steaks.. seasoned and cooked just right.
Thanks guys .... I had a great time.

Always 2nd gear on the ramp the 1st time. Glad you're O.K., could have gone the other way.AlisoBob wrote:So, we did it again....
