The oil tank on our boat had a buzzer and shutoff built in.
My wifes quad has an idiot light. Really!
Its worked great so far. But I bought the kit just in case.
The Blaster quad is the one I of that always sezies.
Mx bikes don't have them because of weight.

My old H2 had an oil pump that ran off the crank, then the 3 oil lines went to the 3 float bowls. Never had a problem with that 3 cyl and I rode that thing HARD. I would spend good money for a reliable system like that for the 500.
Go that way real fast, and if something gets in your way...............
Anyone thought about putting a TBI (throttle body injection) or Straight injection on a 2 Stroke - all you would have to do is rig it so you have two injectors (one gas and the other oil) and a manual regulator for the oil, this would be awesome on a 2 stroke, no power loss problems like us on 4 strokers, and maybe 1 or 2 LBS of added weight for the computer unless you use a throttle pumping system for the injectors then you could mess around with everything easely all day long. WOW I wish you could see inside my head - I have one hell of a picture of the entire workings. Maybe Rosco will let me "play" with his bike - - - NOT.
!!OUCH - Being the best is easy when its already in you!!

Anytime you are going to do that again call me, I'll dispose of it for ya
I got 3 gallons or so sitting in my tank been in there since march... Race Gas with 927 @ 40:1
My 66' Yamaha YM-1 still has the oil injection hooked up and it works flawlessly. More throttle, more oil, less throttle, less oil is how it works. You just can't pull in the clutch for a long period of time cause when the clutch is in, no oil. Coasting down long hills is a no-no as well. I'll continue mixing my oil in my dirt bikes, there's a reason they don't put them on MX bikes.

WHY IS COASTING BAD !?!?!!?
See my "Stupid people/questions" post. My DT1 is virtually identical to your YM-1.

Mahalo,

Don't quote my numbers cause I'm pulling from memory. At idle the mixture is something like 200:1 and at the other end it's around 20:1. I was meaning more the coasting downhill with the clutch in. When the clutch is pulled in there is ZERO oil being injected. So, sitting at a red light I take the bike out of gear.
M.F.D.B. wrote:I highly highly doubt there is ZERO oil being injected. For one, thats stupid, two, why??
That's your opinion and you're welcome to it but you'd be highly, highly wrong my friend. With the clutch pulled in there is no oil being injected. The oil pump, as does the tach, are driven off the tranny mainshaft and with the bike in gear and the clutch pulled in, ZERO oil. But, if the bike is in neutral, with the clutch in or out, oil is pumped. Is it stupid? Hell yeah. Why? I didn't design it.
