Engine Mount Bolts

Post by KE 336 »

Forgive me if it has been covered before, but I haven't seen it anywhere.
Obviously with the thicker mounting brackets the stock bolts won't be long enough. What's everbody using?

Measure the overall dimension of your motor mounts and let me know and I'll get you the part numbers.

Thanks guys!
Mike, I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm using 3/4" X 2 1/2" flat to make the mounts but might mill a small recess on them for the bolt head and nut
but not sure just yet.

It will take some looking on your part but, go to honda dealer of choice that has parts finder and look at different bikes and years. Look under the "frame" section. If you look at the item # on the parts list it says the size of the bolt. One bolt on the 02-04 crf450 is 10x170 mm which is the one I ended up using.

When i'm looking for an OEM bolt of a specific lenght, I just go on a website selling OEM parts (like babbitsonline) and I enter the make (honda) and 10x162 (or any other size!) and it gives me all the application for this bolt. Sometimes you have to try a couple of time to find the closest lenght you need.
