I'm with you on this one as I'm on the fence about doing the same thing. I've been fabricating roll cages, bumpers, race truck parts etc. since high school and have pretty much worn out my mig welder. I really like what Mike is doing and would love to have him do a frame for me. But buying a tig welder and and putting away my old mig sounds pretty appealing right now.....AlisoBob wrote:Wheelie-Gene wrote: Sometimes I think of my frame as a $2K+ conversion. thats the most backwards thing ive read on here in awhile. so your dad certified for 35 years shouldnt get paid more than a guy who has been certified for one year, as per your statement.......you must not own your own company or develop a product. If you think we arent paying Honda or Yamaha for R&D when we buy a CBR1000RR R1 or a eu1000 generator you are crazy.JBaze wrote:
As far as R&D, thats a bill the company should pick up, not pass on to the consumer..

Your quote was changed before I posted my rebutal, I think seinority yeilds higher pay yes. But as a company specifically taking structural integrity and messing with that, I would think they would hire professional welders to do the job. If Honda or Yamaha was in the middle of R&D and sent shit out that looked like that they would be out of business. $1700 is a high end price to pay for this conversion, aside from buying a complete bike, for that much money it should look like it was built by a pro.chachi243 wrote:thats the most backwards thing ive read on here in awhile. so your dad certified for 35 years shouldnt get paid more than a guy who has been certified for one year, as per your statement.......you must not own your own company or develop a product. WTF are you talking about ? me personally, i care...imo if you don't have respect for the way your bike looks, then you probably don't have any respect for your own body and you probably look like a bag of shit...i wouldn't let my body look like shit and i will never let any of my newer bikes look like shit...

Now that's a classic line, love it ! There's more important things to worry about than the welds on the bottom of a 500AF. I can sleep tonight knowing that you have RESPECT for the way your bike looks, what a crack up.
I got some good " Atta' boy's" on my build.... and it really meant someting for the reasons stated above.Balaclava wrote:... I have this site alone to thank for it...people at banned aren't fucking lame ass holes who congratulate everybody's shitty fucking work....
