Don Jones Passed Away

Post by hoofarted »

My friend Dewayne Jones' father, Don Jones, passed away a few weeks ago. For those who know MX from the 70's, here is a tribute page to Don. There will be an addition for Don at Husky Monument in the near future.

My condolences.
That tribute page sure is

Looks like a ride to the Husky monument is in order.

I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of meeting Don Jones while on a ride with a friend from Yosh a few years back. Don was an absolute kick in the pants! He gave me the .05 tour around his facility and inside his "Time Capsules of MX History" (20 and 40 ft containers filled with bikes and other memorabilia...he has some COOL SHIT !!!) Anyway, I'm very sad he's gone, the man became a hero of sorts to me after that trip....middle of the desert, off the grid...sticking his finger up to "The Man". I learned alot about life that day!

Thanks Don, We're going to miss you buddy!

P.s. one of my favorite parts is the PILE (and I mean PILE) of trophies spilling out under his workshop "container" and laying peacefully on the desert floor. Like I said...I learned alot about the BIG PICTURE that day.
I'd rather be riding right now!!!

Here's a late update. Went to Husky on a recent trip and took these photos of the memorial to Don Jones. This monument is getting crowded...So many additions.
