From LA north on inter. 5 exit Frazier Park turn left to Lockwood Valley Rd drive until you hit Hwy 33 (Ranger station on the left) turn right onto Hwy 33 go about 15 miles and look for Ballinger Canyon Rd turn right go in about 4 miles...
I'm still beat up but, I'm gonna go prerun it this weekend!
Hey "X" could you give directions from up north thanks...

I was to believe that Lockwood Valley Rd. was only accessible all the way to the 33 only with 4x4 vehicles, have they re-paved the road or something?teemtrubble wrote:From LA north on inter. 5 exit Frazier Park turn left to Lockwood Valley Rd drive until you hit Hwy 33 (Ranger station on the left) turn right onto Hwy 33 go about 15 miles and look for Ballinger Canyon Rd turn right go in about 4 miles...

Anyways the easiest way to get there from the north is to take the 101 south to 166 east, then right on on the 33 (the 33 is about an hour down 166), then about 3 minutes to Ballinger Canyon road from there.

Lockwood Valley Rd has been paved for years it's only closed due to snow and I called the Sheriff station there 661 245 3511 and they said everything is cool and open all the way through...

Hey Guys,
Well overall it was a great day. There were about 8-10 motor home’s there camping and about 8-10 trucks that showed up throughout the morning. First time there in 25 years so didn't know what to expect. The riding area is awesome. We rode the advance trails and they were in great shape. Not to dusty. We ran into 5 other riders (Group of two and three) the whole day on the trails. Not bad considering how many were in the staging area. One trail had a ton of whoops which beat you up, but nothing compared to the (steps) the BLM puts in the trails. I think I lost a couple fillings. Can you say bone jolting!!!! Gorgeous day. The place is nice and green and didn’t see any water damage. Don't know if I can make it this weekend, but will go back. If I don't see you guys this weekend have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! L8R Mark

Any thoughts of where you will be staging? I will be showing up around 8:00-8:30 on Saturday morning.
I'll be taking this.
