CR500 AF CDI UNIT

Hi guys, just asking if anyone knows anything about the CDI unit on the cr500 , I am thinking of mounting the coil and CDI unit on the head stay bracket about 3'' or 75mm away from the back of the cylinder head, will the unit get too hot there or will it be alright . Does the unit need to be cool to function correctly. Thanks ROB

on both of my AF builds i mounted the cdi units behind the front number board and mounted the coil where the original CRF upper engine mounts go - to the right hand side of the head. if that makes sense ?! I will look for a picture ant post it up if I have one.
