broken suspension link

Post by gregrobo »

hey all after a reasonably hard ride on sunday we were washing the bikes and i noticed a mark on the kicker side suspension link, it looked like grease so i gave it a wipe and found a crack. So today i was talking to a mate who has a 06 crf 450x and he rides it hard and he reakoned that he has broken a couple. I havnt taken any photos yet but i will soon and post them up its a scary thought that i was doing some pretty fast wot whoop single track and it could have ended badly so please if you have a cr crf based conversion check the linkages they look light

i dont know how long the link has been cracked but it copped a beating the day i found it as you can see in the photos it has split on the casting lines which seem to be a common fault in hondas from what i have seen and i washed it before the photos were taken it was after a 3hr ride in muddy slop
