just a hypothetical............
just a hypothetical............
If you were take the bottem 2 engine mounts (not the swingarm one) out of your bike, would it hold up to the engine power ?
Thanks

what kind of stupid question is that?
theres a time and place for nig rigging, its not for bike engine mounts
save it for mounting the cdi box or something

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

Sounds like you want to try out your a/f conversion before getting all the mounts in. You could do it and putt around with everything else nice n tight, but as soon as you crank it wide open there will be lots of stress on the cylinder mounts. Worst case scenario: cylinder rips right off the case and destroys your dreams.

Hey, at least he asked the question and didn't just do it.
Polished, you have probably heard the saying "the only stupid question is the one that wasn't asked" this is pretty boarderline
Give the kid credit for asking, I think he probably had a pretty good idea of the ball busting he would get

My frame is done and welded now but i still need to mess with the rads
anyways i asked the qustion because i was more curious about how much load is on the engine cradle, from what i see it looks like the rotating force from the engine is mainly going to the head stay and swingarm bolt and the twisting force (engine wants to make a left turn) is on the cradle.
my frame seems stroung, I used soild 6061-t6 bar stock to space the frame out where i needed it, it was welded a guy who rakes choppers (both af and steel frames).
I don't jump but im always on one tire and at wot over tiled fields and i do a lot off 2-3 gear starts
What im trying to get at, im scard of my frame breaking, i don't care about the bike, i just care about not getting hurt

The frame is weak.... super weak.....
What carries 90% of the load is the engine, as it ties all the pieces of the frame together.
EVERY mounting point is critical, as its responsible for its part of the triangulation.
Without every mounting point , the frame will fold.....
.... dont even think about it.

The Swing arm / Engine interface Is the major 'mount', but every mount, Is vitally important. Going ape shit on one mount, and doing minimalist / dodgy 'other mounts', is a recipe for disaster.
