85 performance
Hey I got an 85 stock wanted some info on what performance parts from other years can I put on my bike for instance reeds? Pipes from newer models? Anything I didn't list that to ha ha [/b][/i]

and proper suspension settings are the best performance upgrades you can get.
also there are numerous engine modification threads
i.e. porting the cylinder, modification to the crank cases, pwk carbies ,later model ignitions etc, etc here is a good place to start for interchangability.

Until then, why do you feel you need more power? What type of riding do you do? Are you using the bike to its potential and need more?
PS... and intro about yourself in the "Introduce Yourself" section would be pretty neat
Throw it out and build one out of aftermarket parts. Honda has never had a freakin clue what they are doing!
In all seriousness, the best upgrades on my bike: PMB kickstand, High bend bars, proper weight springs, and keep it tuned and maintained.

Sorry no chip....I really don't need more power just pipe is cracked so needs replacing thought might as well go with aftermarket newer if possible and was just wondering if different year reed cage fits the 85 motor and no I can't ride bike 100% but who can? Ha ha what year flywheel fits I couldnt find one....library is coming just hard to make it in after work and I ride ice and hare scrambles

your bike being the 85, has what most guys call a high pipe so 89 onward will not fit.
pipe cracking is an issue on the 500, just make sure it is fitted correctly
make sure your mounts are fitted correctly and the pipe doesnt get forced into position.
reeds and reed cages.............Hmmmm there are many many thoughs on which are the best reed block/reed combination.

make sure your bike is running proper, jetting, reeds, compression, silencer packing, decent tires...
the best $ i spent is on armor, handguards and rad guards
the best $ i spent for performance was magura and 250 ign, thats just me tho

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.
