04 CRF 250 and 98 CR 250 Conversions

Post by juddy »

Hey guys, have tried to fing a bit of info and just got bits and pieces but still unsure of the best ways to do a few things.

Can I use my stock ignition on the 98 CR 250 ? Has 6 wires and the 500 magneto has 4 wires....

I have a 98 Cr 250 airboot on my CRF 250 and it is hard up against the airbox which gives it no room to make an adaptor plate. Is there an airboot about 1/2 " - 3/4" shorter to place a plate in there ?

Not sure about the cooling system or the best coil location on the CRF either.

Cheers guys

but i've read that the 99 boot is quite a bit longer, which is what i need
That is what I used 7 1/4" total length vs the 6 3/4" length of the 01.

Looks like the 01 is the one you need.
