I agree on the cookie cutter pipes. It's too bad the two most prominent pipes we have aren't legitimately better than a stocker...just a bit different. I would like to see a FMF SST available for the 500s for a change. It's pathetic that two stroke open expansion chamber technology and design has co...

is there a handbook somewhere that says what hondas acceptable tolerances are ? im alittle confused on why you keep saying everything is well within honda specs. I'm being facetious. The fact being everything I weigh from Honda has weight discrepancies. The fact that some new 500s were smooth as bu...

I've tried to back door it...spell it all out manually...it don't make a difference. The best I get is an icon that says the photo ...

Maybe we assume too much? If Honda's goal was simply to shift the BF by adding weight they would have only added grams...not ounces. Not nearly enough weight to effect power output or delivery. And in this case 75g on a CR500 crankshaft is within Honda's production tolerances. ...so some guys get th...

Lightening a two stroke crank just seems like a fundamentally BAD idea to me... Aside from producing a crank from lighter material, machinging the existing journals will substanially reduce CCR. I think to a large degree ideas like this rear their ugly heads because of fourstrokes. Race shops and th...

 I understand now, that's all I needed...some big pop up pictures  ...now for debate time. If a particular media had a lower coefficient of thermal conductivity, it means excited electrons cannot travel quickly enough through that particular object. Now we have forces producing heat on on...

the 250 rads have wider cores and they are a much larger single core instead of 2 cores. the 250 rads are far superior. Only the Gen 1s...so how come Honda went away from that design if it was far superior? I understand not everything Honda did made sense OR was in the best interest of the consumer...

Are we talking a steel framed 500? If so they have larger radiators than the 250s did. I'm not positive how the 250F/450F radiators compare? As far as the cylinders go, OF COURSE the 500 runs hotter bro! Aluminum has over x13 the coefficent of heat transfer than does steel. 12 lbs(?) of steel sleeve...

What do you mean? Would additional weight to a CR250 flywheel have the same effect as a FWW on a CR500? ...why wouldn't it? Reciprocating mass is just that...it can't discriminate between ignitions. Now call the residual effects a benefit or not is your choice. I think to a large degree FWWs are hig...

CR500's arent sewing machines.... some are quite loud. If it shifts fine, and the vibes are low... and you cant find the source of the noise.... dont get too shook up over it. I disagree. An unpleasant noise such as this, getting louder over time, is a problem that's worsening and should not be ign...
