Different Rings With Plated Cylinder?

Do the OEM Honda rings work with a plated cylinder? I'm think of sending my cylinder to US Chrome. I thought you need different rings with Nikasil?

If it's a 73, it might even be a SL250. I think the XL350 came out around 74, and the XR250 was 79.

You may have to pay state tax, depends where you buy it. Some states will refund your tax if you send them paperwork and your bills. When you bring it in to Canada, you will have to pay GST for sure, maybe provincial tax, and maybe 6.1% duty. There is also a $207.00 RIV fee. I'm from Manitoba, but I...

Definitely not a jetting issue. If it was jetted right at the beginning of the day, it should still be right unless you had a major temp change. It sounds like there is dirt stuck in the needle and seat, causing it to flood.

What kind of a tank is that, and how does it fit? I have a Clarke 3.1 and I don't like the way the shrouds fit around it.

here is a pic of mine before I had it sleeved by Glen, it has some epoxy work. Is this what you are talking about? https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/fa12ec17eab04889b80d6b58d31c7ed2.jpg You can't really see the ports well in the picture. It's the two transfer ports right by the intake port.

They are supposed to be 30w, I have one but only used it on my bike to see if it works. I never used the lighting part of it.

Rear Transfer Port Epoxy Mod?

Has anyone tried this? I think it's from Eric Gorr's book. 'The hook angles of the rear transfer ports should be filled with epoxy so the transfers are aimed at each other instead of towards the exhaust port. The narrower the port, the sooner the smoother the low end power. The minimum chordal width...

is everyone smoking crack? I don't understand why you are looking at OEM needles for other bikes, just call up sudco or CPW and order exactly what you need. Most places charge way too much for shipping to Canada so I just get OEM needles from a local dealer. It's usually faster also. Roostus, I may...

1473L doesn't sound right for some reason, maybe it was a 1473N. I'll have to double check. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be. I found a 1472N locally, and the bike still pings at around 1/4 throttle when it's hitting the powerband. My next step is a 1470N or a 1471N. I tried a DGJ, which I ...

You pretty well have to have the piston and measure it. I know Vertex has the actual piston diameter stamped on top of it. It was 89.44mm or 3.5211", add your clearance to that to get your bore. I doubt if a Vertex 89.5mm is the exact size as a Wiseco or OEM.

That eBay link is $30.00 for two screws. I thought that was a deal considering one zip-ty screw would cost me over $50.00 shipped.

R1470D and R1470N difference

I can only find the D needle locally and I want to know if it is worth while trying it. I am running a R1473L right now and it's too lean. The end number is supposed to be the straight length, but I can't find D or L on the charts.
