My sons first dirtbike ride

Post by TYSTYX »

Took my son Chris out for his first dirtbike ride today. Had to slap on the smaller 14/17 set of wheels on his CR85. He can barely touch the ground. Not the ideal bike to learn to ride on, but he did good. I took him out to the parking/party area of a set of dunes I ride. The last time I was there the ground was hard pack, but today it was really soft, so he got a little more experiance than I had planned. He knifed the bike in the soft stuff about 8 times, so he learned how to pick up the bike on his own, find neutral, start the bike....stall the bike taking off in the sand....find neutral again, start the bike....more gas on the take off.......more gas........On no, he pinned it.... .....Oh God, I hope he lets off after he gets out of the sand............Whew !!...he did......... :D Now he just has to work on his shifting and remembering to pull in the clutch when coming to a stop. Heres a few pics of his first ride. Im a happy dad !!
