I try not to think about these things, it really puts you in a slump thinking about it.100hp honda wrote:i feel the same way. on the other hand though i dont see the point of a 10 year war. drop some big ass bombs and quit fucking around.AlisoBob wrote:.... to every Serviceman who traded his life, for my freedom.

Natural selection favors Smart people, so nature selects morons to be slow and dumb for tigers and stuff too eat. But in our modern world there just aren't enough tigers.

Service men and women the world over know the american people care.
It's the politicians that bother them. They are like the wind, blowing every which way.
I like the way Israel does things. They play for keeps.
As a veteran, I hate to hear the words "boots on the ground".
That translates to "body bags" and "Dover Air Force Base".
My favorite weapon has always been the cluster bomb. It does not discriminate.
Rules of engagement should be "in it to win it".
Sadly, that's not the case.

This stuff hits home, my gramps was at normandy, drove a tank all across eastern Europe in WW2. Still alive, just turned 92 and healthy as a horse physically. Sadly his mind is in bad shape, he is constantly confused. We had to put him in a Veterans Home a couple of years ago. We tried caring for him at home as long as we could but it finally got bad enough that he would lock everyone out and not answer the door to accept any help.
I grew up spending countless hours hiking, shooting, hunting, fishing etc. with him. I feel like the biggest wimp everytime I go visit him at the Vet's home. I was closer to him than my own father before his memory went. It brings tears to my eyes right now thinking about seeing him in that place. I just can't stand to see him in that shape after remembering what an active, independent, person he used to be.
I will ask my sons that when I'm in bad enough shape that I'm headed for a home, please at least put a gun in my hand, tell me "it's time" and give me the chance to end it on my own terms.

The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...
