that carb is the shit and makes more power on the top end and stronger idle. if you dont have on on the 5 you are missing out

from my post in the cpi thread

"the 39pwk made2hp more than the 41 right from the bottom, but the torque curve was 2-3 higher and wider with the 41, both peaking within .1 of eachother. They were both looking for the same jet, we couldnt do anything but take power away by messing with where i have it. "

Roosty, Maverick27 just had his stock jug 86 + PC pipe on the dyno and Compared the pj and pwk41 and found similar results to yours. As expected the smaller carb made a little more off idle, and on the stock jug they both were very close all the way through the pull. I believe the stock jug was the limiting factor there.

However, when I went from the stock pj to the 41 pwk on my GSS ported 01 my butt dyno told me i picked up some everywhere.

Ill have to read through the "CPI" thread again but was the motor you tested P&P'd?

I was working with stock port sizes at the sleeve, with stock locations and mild work inside the exhasut port in my "sunday" engine. Same as the engine i took out friday. Using my pipe/silencer and reeds from the friday engine aswel. If it was to be run harder for anyhting other than my trail riding and hillclimbing it could have more work, but its very good on fuel and to add 7ftlbs is a hell of an acomplishment, AND the curve for both hp=tq are 1000rpm earlier with 500rpm more duration. Check out my youtube vids, its VERY rideable

i kept the sizes as they were for guys that dont want the big fuel hungy pigs and want the trail or road rip, it would have been unfair to port the shit out of it and call it a test on what work i have done

So is bigger better...or do you need to utilise a carby to suit an application...ie...MX, enduro, Hill climb, desert,
I'd ruther have a carb that can do "ALL" sorts of riding honestley then 1 thats good here & bad there...if that makes sence.
