Pretty cool approach. Adopt a foreign policy that does not piss anyone off. Benefit from a highly defensible natural terrain. Train your citizens to be immediately able to defend themselves at a tactical level and make the place un-governable to an invader. And the huge side benefit is that it would be real difficult for the government to mess with the citizens. Oh and I sure their burglary rate is low!

And of course it doesn't hurt that they're sitting on mountains of other people's money that would immediately go bye bye if anyone mounted a serious attack.

The Swiss have it right, have always thought so! Too late for this to work in the USA, maybe had our borders been locked down 30 or 40 years ago and our political appointees did not try and police the rest of the world!
