2005 crf 250f ...what Gen is it?

kind of new to site...joined awhile back but got derailed on my project

i recently got a 2005 crf 250f....its not the x version

i am looking for an cr500 engine.....

after doing some reading on the site i have a couple questions

1 what gen is this
2 whats the best year 500 engine to find for the 05 250f frame
3 what all i will i need to complete this conversion
4 who sells these parts

i have a welder here that can do all the welding if i can buy the parts...like the Y piece

You have a Gen 4

93 or later make good conversions. The tranny ratios and later modle clutch are desirable.

No kit is available

You have the "Y" already.... just move it up.

Look at the all CRF build theads.....

got the frame stripped down....

on a side note...

i found a primo 88 cr500 today for 1200....its har to find any upper 90 year models around here

i'm trying to hold off snatching up the 88 500....grrrrrrrr

i picked this 2005 crf250 up from a buddy for 350 bucks...i am itching bad to get started...lol
