Any San Diego Riders?

Post by DesertCR »

Well it seems I've got lame dick roommates and friends, nobody wants to go riding. Anybody ride the tracks out here, Barona, Golden Acorn, etc? I cant do any trail rides because my other bike is in need of a carb but my running bike isnt registered. :( Anyways, I"m looking for a track partner(s). Who's up for it? BTW I'm just learning tracks myself.

Yeah thats still a pretty long drive though. My old toyota is a little sketchy so even driving that far isnt the best for it. Im in need of alignment and front tires, hopefully I'll get em real soon.

Sounds like we ought a put together a ride day at Pala or maybe Milestone if enough Vegas people would make it. But membership is a problem.

Dam that was my original plan, the 16th, but I here I can work sunday. Hard to pass up double time just to hold a rope connected to a piece of tooling for three of the fives hours.

This is the only jump anyone has to worry about and its even easier than shown cause the face is worn down. Hell I'm actully having trouble getting stopped for the corner after now. A couple of times I locked the rear in the air and was dead stick on landing but being in 4th shes lights back up easy.

yeah, that was my deal at the mesquete track, I was on the vet/qwad track most of the day, having a blast only catching a couple feet of air. I hit the big boy track and the other riders kinda spooked me off the track. I was a little worried I was gonna cause a pile up at the rate some of those guys were going! I had a lot more fun at boulder. MFDB was riding right next to me, so I would make myself go the same speed as him and it really helped me start jumping a lot better. I always have issues with going fast enough. Last time at apex on danielles crf250 I was catching some real air. The 500 is a shitty bike to learn to jump on, the throttle control is more difficult. I was getting pretty good at controlling my jumps on the crf.

First tip, let a few guys go out first to break in the track, unless you want your bike all muddy and dump it a couple of times.

Working Sunday.

Well yaaaaa.....! Going from deep sand to tacky wet dirt. She even becomes a wheelie monster if your not careful.

Practice, practice, practice.
