From what SH told me there is a complete gasket kit but not a seal kit. will have to get individual part numbers for those.

You might wanna rethink the pro-x piston. Do a search on them, Roostius has posted pics of how they DON'T seal off the ports properly because of the machining that was done around the wrist pin. If you are gonna get STR to do the crank, you might as well get it set up for a worthy piston.

I'm pretty stoked w/ my STR crank, worth every penny.

Yea i cant wait to ride the thing with the new crank. when I tore the engine down it was a bit more worn than I had expected. Nothing really trashed just worn. I look forward to less vibration.

As far as the PROX.. shit man i have been running 3 in a row in this bore, no problemo, they seem to hold up really well for me. My first one had over 80 hours on it of hard trail riding. As far the the wiseco I have never ran one int he 500, but i have had terrible luck with them in the past. in fact every piston I have ever grenaded has been a wiseco.

Can you point me in the direction of the pics Roostie posted concerning the transfer port discrepancy mentioned?

OK so i found it

http://www.bannedcr500riders.com/board/ ... c&start=15

this thread for those that are interested.

Fuck, i have this BRAND NEW Prox, checked it out and it leaves the exhaust port open just like roosties. This is on a 89mm ported 2001 jug. Man I hate wasting fucking money. :( :( :(

So do i dare go down the wiseco road again?

What's wrong with oem? Your at stock bore right? And there is one on eBay australia for cheap. Screw wiseco but I'm 100 percent sure that the reason wisecos stick are because improper warming of the motor, and improper clearences

wiseco's are fine given the jug/piston being set up right. If I was gonna run mine hard I'd run a wiseco. I'm pretty happy with my vertex. I didn't want to rain on your parade but....

If the crank work is allready done, changing pistons will just change the rpm where the motor is in the sweet spot. It's not like you can ride just at that rpm.

Sell that pro-x on ebay or take up smoking and put your butts in it

the prox and vertex are very close in weight, i'll post that when i get to work

oem 404.6 + pin 82.1 = 486.7
prox 418.7 + pin 79.4 = 498.1
vertex 422.7 + pin 82.2 = 504.9

if it were me, and i was really wanting to match to that prox, id swap the vertex pin for the prox, then get the scale and grinder out. atleast its heavier, and not lighter
