Hit a Fox on my way home.

Post by Travis »

Do you guys think it will make it. I watched it for about 20 minutes thinking it was dead before I moved it. Then I brought it home. The wife had a stethascope sp? and I think I can hear a heartbeat. Anyway I have some pics in case. He was still warm to the touch after an hour and a half.

Ah that sucks. Is it breathing?

Would a vet stick you with a bill if you brought it to them?

Since the eyes are still relecting light is it possible its still alive?

He is still laying in the same spot this morning so I guess he didn't make it. That sucks. The vet would have charged me then kept him. I didn't get him with the wheels though so I was hoping he would pull through. I am not sure about the eyes thing but I always thought they have to be alive for them to reflect. Not sure though.

Missed that bit

When I hit something I always stop to make sure its dead, if it aint I take care of business on the spot. I learnt a long time ago not to try to avoid animals in the road, just brace for impact.
