AMA NATIONAL TWO-STROKE CHALLENGE
GLEN HELEN NATIONALS TO HOST L. A. SLEEVE TWO-STROKE CHALLENGE

MXA is pleased to announce that Glen Helen will host its incredibly popular L.A. Sleeve Two-Stroke Challenge again this year.
The two-stroke-only race will be held at half-time between the AMA 250/450 Nationals on May 23, 2009.
It will be a one-moto race, but if it is anything like last year, it will be a barn-burner.
In 2008, Greg Albertyn used a left-over works Suzuki RM250 to take the $2000 winner’s share. The race was incredibly exciting as riders showed up on Service Honda CR500AF’s, YZ250’s, CR250s, KX250s, RM250s and KTM 250SXs. There was even a YZ125 in the hands of Arizona’s Ed Foedish. The field last year included Greg Albertyn, Phil Lawrence, Doug Dubach, Chuck Sun, Richie Owens, Tony Amaradio, Carter Gurnee, Ray Sommo and 30 other hopeful two-stroke riders.
The L.A.Sleeve Two-Stroke Challenge is an invitational event, but riders need to apply to be invited. Think about it! You could be racing at the Glen Helen Nationals in front of 20,000 fans (fans who really love two-strokes). You would also have to be able to handle the National track. But, to get accepted you have to send an email to Glen Helen’s Lori Bryant. She will select the 40 riders who will line up behind the gate.
The Two-Stroke Challenge is a Glen Helen-only event and will not be held at any of the other 11 Nationals.
Send your request (just an email note with your name, address, email address and qualifications) to lori@glenhelen.com.

I am supposed to have tires and tubes by today so I should be able to get them laced up next week.
I'll second that. Consider this an open invitation to any "approved candidate" pro level rider who would want a sweet stealy to flog in this event for posterity.redrocket190 wrote:If someone of the required caliber can get a ride, I'd put my bike up just to see it ridden to its full potential....

Talladaga then up Shoei hill looks fun. And it figures, I'll be at Pismo for that Vet X race. Well I can still practice it.
