steel framed hillclimbers

Post by hondahillclimber »

this bike started out as a bone stock 2000 cr500, then my brother turned it into a hillclimber. this is what he did with it. Image

i then bought it from him a couple of months later and turned it into this. i tore it down to the frame and painted it,put on new plastics(added 450 fenders front and rear), polished the cylinder and head, the wheels, swingarm and various other aluminum parts, got some more motorwork done, and got the cylinder plated with nicasil.

it is a custom hand made frame made by www.btrmoto.com (the white #48 bike), it has a 1978 kawisaki kz1000 engine that it is punched out to 1200cc's with 11:1 comp pistons, new cams, new valves and guided, welded crank, fed by 38mm mukini carbs.i have not had it dynoed but it should be putting out around 135-145 hp, it uses 2001 cr500 forks and triples and rear shock with a 89 cr500 swingarm. it runs good but i have to do some more fine tuning to the suspension and jetting. it rides and handles suprisingly well for how heavy it is.
