Registered. Too friggin expensive to fall off on Saturday a.m.!
Brit called to talk about camping spots so I went to Google Maps for the satellite view. I read on Proride that the track layout is the same as last year, so...
To get to the start you turn West off 395 on Rancho Road. The pavement runs out at Koala Road and it is crushed cinders further on. The start goes North on Koala until Yucca and then veers off right onto the dirt.
I think you can park RVs etc. on the West side of Koala behind a fence that runs alongside the start.
I saw people parking their rigs in the industrial park to the East of Koala.
Rancho Road is raised up, but it looks like you can drive down onto a parallel dirt road and then there is a large flat area about half way between Koala and the motocross track.
I am hoping to be able to get in and park with you all on Saturday morning when I get there. If they have it blocked I will do the old drive thru the desert to get to you all.

But first I want to see you burn some laps around the fence. 5 laps pinned then rest for 20 minutes, then 5 more, rest 20-30, then five more, then have a beer. Congrats your done, til next week repeat.
BTW I see there's a meeting Friday for details on layout vendors ect......

I have done that. You want to talk about arm pump.
I learn from the Proride site that the motocross park won't be used and the DVMC will bull-doze a motocross section like they did two years ago. It and vendor row will be near the start. That probably rules out one of the obvious camping spots.
Brit, why don't you and I pick a day to go scope the area out?
After not being able to reach an agreement with Durrel at AMP (Imagine That) they are gonna use the same start as last year and build a mx section by the start and put the vendors there old school style. They are finalizing the course for street closures due to some new develolpments etc but should be similiar to last year. About a 9 mile loop. The pros may run a modified course again to give the fans in the spectator area more exposure to them and less chance of some idiots hopping on the track in front of them. The Vipers and the city are working hard to ensure this is a great event......

Me, arley and rp went out there today to go mark off a spot and there aint SHIT there, no track marked, no flyers, no signs, no campers, no machines, no MX track......
We ended up driving around for an hour for nothing, as usual the desertvipers don't have shit posted
AMP is also closed down and deserted
Im gonna try again in 2 weeks.....

I would wait til 2/14-17th. AMP is dead and Andy, the guy that put the owner in the hospital is doing ok and has been working a few days at Comp Edge. I'm hearing the track prep has been better too. Dam I wish there was a race this series there.
I think RP should contact the Desert Vipers and see what plans they have for big rigs. (Last year they put them in the Motoplex.) Given that the rig can't simply turn off the dirt road into the spot we were last year may I suggest a) the industrial park near the start or b) going a lot further down Rancho Road and finding a quiet surface street. 2 years my bud broke his collar bone and when I drove to pick the bike up the folks who were baby-sitting it had basically commandeered a complete side street for their RVs and at the end of the street was the track. Just a thought.

Seems to be a pain in the ass, I might just run a truck and small trailer. Save the hassle and the rig.
