OK fags, laugh it up......
My new ride, a Duramax. Its 2004.5, that means it has the LLY, not the leaky injector, turn your oil into campfire starting fluid prone... LB7.
Its pretty sweet for 4 years old... 95k miles, tons of servicing done at the dealer, leather, telescoping mirrors.... you know the deal.
Iggro, check your pm's..... I need to talk fluids, and bypass oil filters....
Ok hoons, flame away....

Driver`s side full bore exhaust manifold for the 2001-2006 Duramax balances your engine power, reduces cylinder load, reduces exhaust temperature, exhaust backpressure and improves fuel economy.
The stock manifold:
My first mod I think....
• Stock drivers side manifold only flows 75% of the passenger side manifold
• 3 cylinders only operate at 80% capacity & load others down
• No access to measure exhaust temperature
The BD manfilold:
• Flow matches the passenger side manifold and balances the engines exhaust pressure.
• Maintains consistent exhaust pressure and temperature on both sides of the engine. Contains Exhaust temperature probe port.
BD uses a high silicon Ductile iron that prevents cracking from heat expansion and vibrations. Manifold gaskets required.

Stock?! Hell No!
Suggested List (in order):
- 4" straight pipe exhaust and intake (no K&N)
- That manifold replacement is prob. a good idea
- Gauges! Pyro, Trans Temp, and Boost
- No real lift needed - maybe a leveling kit and some meats to replace the skinny stockers.
- Tuner
- And finally...a propane setup! Like NOS to a diesel! Ha!
..and run bio if you can. better HP/economy and cleaner.
Congrats, Bob!

I will for the most part..... but that manifold has got to go.britincali wrote:Leave it stock bob......
While looking at allot of trucks, it bacame clear that if there was evidence of mechanical work ( rtv oozing out, broken wiring hold downs, etc..) it was usually involving the drivers side head.
The LB7's fo' sho....
I cant but help think the two are related.
If you decide to put gauges in it, PM me for a hookup. SoCal diesel makes a very nice billet anodized insert for gauges in overhead compartment. I just got rid of my 04LLY. Gotta look around, I may have a Superchips programmer I'll send to you if you decide to tune it up.AlisoBob wrote:I will for the most part..... but that manifold has got to go.britincali wrote:Leave it stock bob......

How come Iggy? I'm a dealer too!! I'll beat whatever price Igg offers you. Sorry Iggy, I'm broke man...need cash.AlisoBob wrote: Iggro, check your pm's..... I need to talk fluids, and bypass oil filters....
Just kidding though, I'm a horrible dealer. I've sold a case of 0W-30 SSO in all of last year. I'm pathetic. I just like buying cheap oil for myself Or it use to be really cheap...until Amsoil started sending us lists 3-4 times a month with inflated prices.
