I've read this thread a couple of times and thought, "yeah give it a go ". I got iron guts!
Its afternoon here, and hot n humid, just ripe for downing a dozen beers. So here goes.
Sheezes just ,urk, not good. Must be something in the air in the Northern Hemisphere, I just can't get the handle of that taste.
Waste of a good tin of tomarto juice.
Sorry guys, you must have more mature tastebuds than mine.

Spam sushi ? No way. You're having us on, aren't you Bob ?
I'll be visiting with my elderly mum soon and I'll get her recipe for something she used to make for us which made the spam a bit more palatable. She called it a spam slam ! I'll post it up soon.

A slice of Spam is placed onto a block of rice and a piece of nori (dried seaweed) is wrapped around the Spam-rice combination to hold it together. Although musubi resembles nigiri sushi, its rice is not treated with vinegar and is not considered to be a form of sushi, since the requirement for sushi is rice being covered with a vinegar-based mixture.
So.... not really sushi, but still good.

The Spam musubi sold in Hawaii has become a classic treat that is recommended by many locals. An optional ingredient to the Spam musubi is a teriyaki sauce that adds depth to the treat. It is also optional to add tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), shoyu (soy sauce), as well as furikake (seasoning) to the rice.

I ate a few slices of "a yard-o-beef" after drinkin and it was the worst thing I've ever barfed, but tasty when I was off my rocker.

I recommend one of the 5.5 oz cans of tomato juice to one beer, served in a frosty beer mug.

My arteries get clogged just looking at, and reading what you guys eat.
Thanks for the pics of the museum, it actually looks interesting.
Stupid question coming up; How come the Hawaiians have so many different spam recipes, and they're are sold at Maccas?

from the military precence. Anywhere you had a lot of US military stuff going on in the mid 20th century spam became very common. MFDB was telling me about this since he grew up in HI and won't touch spam now
