Hello from Ridgecrest, CA (High Desert, Dirtbike Heaven)

Post by motorguy »

Hello from the high desert of so cal!
I recently found a nice 92 500 smoker and am having a blast with it.
I used to ride open bikes back in the day, Maicos, the last one was an 84 490, neat bike but severly dated now, still fond memories of that machine, very versaltile.
Glad to have found this site, nice to have input from others who have been there, done that!
Been working on the bike, added FWW (15oz), came w/Scotts damper, made a coolant recovery tank, seems to be working well so far. Have a juice clutch on the way and just got a call from Madman about gears.
This bike has really tight, drag race gear box, good for mx but, I live in the high des and need more gear. Anyway, glad to be here! Let's Ride! Motorguy in the high des

Good deal!
Thanks for the welcome.
This winter should be good.
I will post when we are going to ride and we can get together.
I feel lucky, I can ride after work and most weekends.
There are a lot of really good riders here, nice folks too.
I have hit up surf city motorsports about a carb and jets, still haven't heard back. I want to do the PWK!
Anybody done the Madman tranny gears?
I am about to go for it.
Good to find you folks :D
