Glen Helen MX National Hillclimb Demo

Post by rpeterson »

Before we landed the date for the GH hilllcimb last year we did a one run demo at Halftime during the AMA MX Finals. It was almost a total disaster because they didn't open the gates at the top of the hill and I just barley saved it. It left a good enough impression to get our foot in the door for a event and now the rest is history!

The gates were wired shut and no one had any thing to cut them loose. :x So instead of stopping me they just let me hit it wide open in 3rd. I think they just wanted to see how good I could stop with only a front brake.

I would either be 6 ft under or still in a coma if I would have connected with the fence. Oh, well. Someone was watching and taking care of me that day!

Amen to that  wired shut with nothin to open them... pffft  they should have kicked the damn things open, its a crappy modular chainlink fence.. take that part down.. definitly not rocket science and worth the effort to keep a rider from heading to the hospital.
