Nodge's Gen 1 '99 CR 250
Thread back from the dead!
Better late than never?
Almost done final assembly.
Have to mount the exhaust, and finish mounting the plastics.
Also didnt realize until last week that an '85 runs a different front sprocket than '86 up.

I am calling this build finished!
First off, thanks to Danny, and Shanman for the advice and conversion kit.
Also thanks to everybody before me who has built one of these!
I took it out of the kitchen today and out into the cold Canadian air.
(its about -15 F today for you non metric folks to the south)
The first thing I have to say is that it is not a good idea to try and start a 1985 CR500
with a shaved head and Cr250 kicker while wearing skateboard shoes in the winter.
After about 10 kicks, I had enough of that, and went back inside to put on one of my riding boots.
3 kicks later it was ALIVE!
In the next 30 seconds, a foot peg rattled off (no cotter pin),
and I discovered my kill switch didn't work. (loose connection)
I took it for a ride up and down the steet a couple times,
and back out to the garage to retorque everything.
So far all I can find wrong is that my fuel petcock leaks,
but only when turned on.
Anybody thinking of doing a gen 1 should not hesitate.
These bikes go together almost like factory.
Here are the finished pics.
I didn't put on all the decals that came with the kit,
but I may add a couple more. I think it looks good as it is.

Re: Nodge's Gen 1 '99 CR 250
So this is actually the 99 that I started building so many years ago. The skull bike was a 97 that I built with most of the stock parts from this 99.

The pipe looks wild, lots of welding, is the front tire going to clear on full bump?
Gen 2 AF, yes it's a SH, so I can call it an AF Damm it!
