New AF Rider

Hey all,
Have always wanted an AF500 , but I'm originally from NZ where even a steel 500 is fairly hard to come by. Recently moved to Arizona and found them relatively common so bit the bullet and bought one, decided to buy a completed one in need of some TLC and do a freshen up on it.
Ended up with a gen2 cr250 , Needs basically a full refresh apart from the bore/piston look in very good condition (to me at least). But everything else from wheel to wheel needs at least some attention, I'll go into more detail in a build thread once I get started.
In my late 30's , Have ridden since ~10 years old (rm80) and have owned too many 80/125/250's to remember. Have only ridden 1-2 times a year in the last 10 (wife and kids) - spent more time working on my old KX than riding it - also a keen road rider , used to ride every day to work, and most weekends I could get away.
Hoping to learn a few tips and tricks (starting procedure was a huge help once I got the bike home).
