What are you guys running as far as gearing goes?
I was at 14/52 very tough to keep under me.
Now running 15/52 and the bike seems to pull all gears longer
And it's more predictable on power delivery for me .
85 motor 05 frame. Jetted , on the money
Happy with it for now, want to know what the track guys are running
As this is a track only bike.
Thanks, hope you all had a great Easter.

I'm not really a motocrosser but I will say the 85 motor is the nastyiest motor of all the 500's I have ever ridden and you may be able to pull different gears to smooth out that power than those of us with the long rods.

I used to motocross my '85 engined AF, I ran 13/50.
Do a 2nd gear start, and pretty much leave it in third the whole track, shift to 4th on the straight, back to 3rd for corners.

It was an animal, too explosive below 3rd gear, very difficult to control. I was faster on a CR250 everywhere except the start and in the whoops.

I crashed a lot on the 500.
I quit racing after I snapped my subframe for the second time from over jumping short doubles and bottoming hard.
I'm really not that good of a racer anyway, but I loved holeshotting everybody's 450's and passing them in the whoops. I'm not a good jumper.
