Will a 90 cr engine fit in my 86 frame without any mods?

no. the swingarm bolt is smaller, the waterhose/pipe situation could be an issue and the rear brake lever will hit the clutch cover.

You asked if it would fit without mods, it actually shouldn't be too difficult to modify to make it work.
