Wide Ratio Tranny Gears

Post by USMC 500 »

Hey Hoons!!.....I got the 92 CR500 motor because at $600 for motor, carb, electronics it was a steal. However I am aware that I also ended up with the close ratio tranny......Gonna look into getting the 4th and 5th gear out of the 93-01 CR500. Can anyone tell me what the part numbers are for those gears? Or at least how many teeth each one has?.....Everywere I look refers to them by number of teeth and not as 4th or 5th gears.

I will be trail riding with it.......Don't care too much about racing at top speed across the desert. I don't want it to be a dog either....

I have a 91 which is the close ratio as well and it does good in the dezert with the 14/48 gearing I run. I would run what you got and go from there.

I have a 1992 as my motor , everything else is part of the week to keep her going. I run everything with it and it's fast enough to make your eyeballs float in your head from trail to dune, just run it.
