For those of you who dont know... this is Tina Johnson.. aka DirtBikeGirl500.
She was super cool, rode awesome , and was small enough to fit in your pocket.
I heard she was ill recently, as she was selling her bikes on Craigslist.
We had a few email exchanges....
Hi Tina... my names Bob.... I rode with you a few times in AZ on the
HoonFEST rides Tracy Stanton puts on...
I dont need another bike, just wanted to drop you a note about your
cancer... and let you know I'm thinking about you.
Bummer..... but your strong, and thats what it takes to beat it!
Good luck with everything.... Say "Hi" in you ever come to So-Cal.... Bob
She answered back...
Hi Bob from the O.C. ? Right?
I remember you well, we had a couple of really great rides with Tracy. I remember good times. Yeah I would never sell my bike if the cancer had not allready kicked my butt. Its everywhere including my hips, my knees, my brain, my lungs, my back, and thats where I know of, its probably elsewhere also. Im hoping for a miracle but thats a longshot. Thanks for the email and it was nice hearing from you. I have a killer picture of all of us together that I took and your right in the front. Its one of my favorites. Riding my 500 is what I miss the most. I never dreamed I would be crippled and not from my bike. I would have preferred my bike do the damage instead of cancer. Stay cool Bob.
Tina
She would find a log or something to stand on, start the bike HERSELF. No decomp on nothing.... and ride off. To stop, she needed to find something tall.... or ride side saddle.. kill it.. and hop off.
Well, Trace just told me she died yesterday...
Everyone has their special Valentine today..... but add another one... Tina.
